Before Your Face Lift

Your candidacy for Face Lift (rhytidectomy) can only be evaluated during a consultation with Dr. Proffer. Some risk is unavoidable, but most healthy adults can safely undergo a Face Lift without major complications. At your consultation, we will discuss your health history and goals for surgery. Many of our patients choose to combine Face Lift with other procedures, including eyelid surgery and skin rejuvenation, to address other problem areas.

The MACS Face Lift

At Proffer Surgical Associates, we pride ourselves on exceptional Face Lift results. At our Amarillo, Texas surgical center, we carefully lift the skin of the face and neck through incisions concealed behind the hairline, with results that range from subtle to dramatic depending on your preferences. Patients with aesthetic problems that are more localized in the upper face may prefer a brow lift, which is less invasive than a full Face Lift.

Many of our patients undergo the MACS (Minimal Access Cranial Suspension) Face Lift because it is less invasive than more conventional Face Lift procedures and leaves a shorter scar. Recovering from Face Lift Surgery

After a comfortable overnight stay in our surgery center, your dressings, which are usually removed the next day. Discomfort is usually minimal, and can be controlled easily with medication in most cases. You will return to have your sutures removed within two weeks. Bruising and swelling recede dramatically within two to three weeks to the point that you can go out in public without feeling self-conscious. The benefits of surgery should be evident within four to six weeks, with continued improvement for several months after surgery.
