Your Body Contouring Procedure

We usually perform liposuction under general anesthesia. Dr. Proffer inserts a small suction tube through tiny incisions near your fat deposits, and excess fat is removed in order to sculpt the body as desired. Dr. Proffer can use liposuction remove fat to reveal muscles, change the overall shape of the body, or simply accentuate existing contours.

Recovering from Liposuction

Liposuction patients leave the hospital with a compression garment covering the area that has been treated. You should maintain compression on the treated area for about a month, as it helps reduce swelling and other side effects after liposuction. You may prefer to wear spandex clothing once your post-surgical soreness begins to fade. For most patients, bruising and swelling subside in a month or less, and the final result reveals itself over the following months as the skin tightens and adjusts to the new shape of the body.
