Posted by Dr. Patrick Proffer on October 9, 2018

When most people think of Botox, they immediately think of cosmetic and plastic surgery.

That’s a fair assessment. In 2002, the FDA approved the use of OnabotulinumtoxinA (Botox) as a cosmetic treatment for the appearance of deep forehead lines. Soon after, cosmetic surgeons began using the treatment to minimize crow’s feet around the eyes.

Posted by Dr. Patrick Proffer on August 28, 2018

Tummy tucks, or abdominoplasty, is a medical body-contouring procedure that typically removes two to ten pounds of abdominal fat, strips off excess skin, and tightens the tummy muscles with sutures.

What A Vitalize Peel Looks Like Up Close And Personal

Posted by Dr. Patrick Proffer on August 21, 2018

Jessica Bunn Rich is Proffer Surgical Associates' Media and Marketing Specialist. After almost a year of being unable to use her usual skin care products due to pregnancy, she opted to take action! She consulted with the estheticians at The Spa at Proffer Surgical who suggested she try a SkinMedica Vitalize peel. She chronicled her experience to share with others who might be considering having a peel themselves.

After being pregnant for most of 2014 and unable to use my usual line of skincare products, my skin appeared dull and lifeless. I had the post-baby “hues” – areas of hyperpigmentation, ruddy splotches, and a rough texture overall.

The estheticians suggested a Vitalize peel to treat my dermis woes. They explained I needed to “baby” my skin in preparation for the peel, halting any use of more aggressive products, like Retinol.

I'm not gonna lie, I was extremely hesitant. I didn't know what to expect. I've never had a peel before, and I didn't want something that was going to take forever to slough off, or have a gazillion post-procedure steps. A new mom is short on time after all!
