Eyebrow trends may come and go, but we all know the importance of keeping our eyebrows looking stylish and gorgeous. Even if you have perfect hair and a great physique, your entire look can be ruined by ragged, overly styled, sloppy, or unnatural eyebrows.
Almost no one is lucky enough to have eyebrows that behave perfectly on their own. So chances are, you’re trying everything you can think of to make them as close to perfect as possible.
Unfortunately, the struggle is real when it comes to keeping your eyebrows symmetrical, natural, and at that perfect thickness. And it’s so much more difficult to sculpt your own eyebrows!
Below, we share our favorite tips to create natural-looking eyebrows that frame your face and fit your style. That way, you can spend less time stressing about your brows and spend more time doing the stuff you love.
Aside from plucking, eyebrow waxing is probably one of the most famous eyebrow treatments in the world. Waxing is used to get rid of unwanted hair on many different parts of the body by men and women alike.
Eyebrow waxing can use hot or cold wax. The cold waxing method uses pre-waxed strips that are cut to a specific size, depending on what area they are being used for. You don’t need very large strips for eyebrows, as it’s such a small part of the body.
These strips don’t need to be heated with any external heat. The warmth of your brow specialist’s hands is enough to heat up the wax so that it can be applied to your skin. After a short wait, the specialist will pull the wax strip off your skin, removing the unwanted hair.
Hot wax is likely the most popular method for removing unwanted facial hair, including brows. The specialist uses an applicator to put melted wax on the skin. As it cools, it adheres to the top layer of the skin, clinging to each strand of hair. A cool strip of cloth is placed on top of the wax, and after only a few seconds, the specialist pulls off the cloth, removing both the wax and the hairs in one quick motion.
Many stores sell self-waxing kits, but a specialist can place the strips in exactly the right places and avoid accidentally removing too much hair. Brow specialists also don’t hesitate, meaning the process is faster and less painful than if you do it on your own.
2. Brow Lift
A brow lift is a surgical procedure, sometimes called a forehead lift. It reduces wrinkle lines that run horizontally across the forehead, in addition to lines between the eyes. Avoiding frown lines between your eyebrows is an essential part of keeping your brows looking young and healthy.
Only cosmetic surgeons can perform brow lift procedures. They often perform the procedure with an endoscope, which is a thin tube that has a camera on the end. Incisions are made along the hairline. Although the incisions are so tiny that they rarely leave any scarring, the location of the incisions also prevents any long-lasting visibility.
If the thought of surgery scares you, there are less invasive brow lift options available. We use Botox to create the same benefits of a surgical brow lift without having to go under the knife. The treatment will not be permanent, but it’s a great way to see whether a brow lift will improve the way you look.
3. Brow Tint
Are your brows a different color than your hair? Are they too dark or too light for your complexion? Brow tint is one of the best strategies for maintaining your brows, especially if they are usually pale and bland.
When you get your eyebrows tinted, your brow specialist will apply semi-permanent dye to your brows. This enhances and defines your brows, creating the fullness you have been trying to achieve!
Brow tinting is made from semi-permanent vegetable dyes or henna, and it can be made to match your existing shade or shift to a different shade, depending on what you are going for
4. Stencils and Brushes
Are you worried about trying to fill in your brows with an eyebrow pencil because you’re not confident in your own ability?
Try eyebrow stencils! Using a brush and a stencil, you can create the exact look you are going for. This is a short-term process that you can do with your regular daily or special occasion make-up application. Stencils help you avoid “coloring outside the lines.”
One of the most popular brands of eyebrow stencils is Jane Iredale. If you’re still worried about getting it right, ask your brow specialist to help you learn to use these professional-grade stencils at home.
Few things are as frustrating as thinning brows. Unfortunately, age, thyroid issues, and overplucking can all leave your brows looking scarce.
Growth serums can help stimulate hair growth and thicken your eyebrows naturally, so you can stop painting on brows each day. One of the best products to go with is RevitaLash’s RevitaBrow.
This award-winning serum includes protein-rich peptides, lipids, biotin, and green tea extract. When combined, the BioPeptin Complex conditions and strengthens brows while protecting against breakage and stimulating growth.
According to one study, out of 112 participants who tried RevitaBrow for 8 weeks:
- 96% experienced improved appearance of eyebrows overall
- 94% experienced more defined-looking eyebrows
- 92% experienced a bolder, fuller-looking brow
The results speak for themselves.
