TUMMY TUCK / ABDOMINOPLASTY

Diet and exercise are not always enough to tighten loose abdominal muscles, especially after pregnancy or significant weight loss.

If the skin on your abdomen is loose and sagging, surgery may be the only way to flatten and tighten your abdomen. Abdominoplasty, commonly referred to as tummy tuck, provides a way to achieve the abdomen you want by removing excess skin and fat while tightening the abdominal muscles.

Dr. Proffer will discuss the risks and the benefits of abdominoplasty with you to evaluate your needs and help to determine whether or not a tummy tuck is your best option. It is important to know that a tummy tuck is not a weight loss procedure, but is used to contour and tighten the abdomen when you have reached your goal weight. Liposuction may compliment and enhance your tummy tuck results.

There are several types of tummy tuck surgeries. Dr. Proffer will explain each procedure and help you identify the surgery that is right for you.

√ STANDARD ABDOMINOPLASTY

√ EXTENDED ABDOMINOPLASTY

√ FLOATING UMBILICAL ABDOMINOPLASTY

√ BODY LIFT

Our abdominoplasty patients stay overnight in our accredited surgical facility. Oral pain medicine is prescribed to help control any discomfort associated with the procedure. Dr. Proffer uses a no-drain technique to make your recovery as pleasant as possible. Light activity starts the day of the surgery, followed by light aerobic activity in two to three weeks. More strenuous activity, including abdominal or core exercise, will not be possible for at least six weeks.
